Volunteering for CBBR

We only have 7 dogs on site, the rest are in foster care.  The dogs on site are recent arrivals that are being assessed or ones with training/behavioural needs that we do not have fosters equipped to deal with.

We currently have volunteers come in during our open hours of Monday – Saturday between 9am – 1pm to do things like cleaning, walking etc.  Our minimum age for volunteering is 16 years. 

To volunteer you first need to complete our health and safety induction.  This involves reading our Health & Safety Manual, Policies & Procedures Manual in advance, plus a brief on-site induction, which takes around 30 minutes.  Please let us know if you are wanting to attend an induction so we can email you the handbooks to read in preparation for the on-site induction.

The induction is done at the rescue, 4 times a year at 9:15am on the first Friday & Saturday of the applicable month. See below for a list of the dates.  Once the induction has been completed, you are required to shadow a senior volunteer while learning the ropes.

You do not need to attend both days, just pop along on the day that suits best.

If you are completing hours as part of a course requirement & need them completed faster than our next induction date, please let us know.
