Special Home Needed – Adoption or Foster For Life
Sandi came to us from Hurunui Pound, she is the sweetest girl & has quickly become a volunteer favourite. We have estimated her to be around 6 year old but her body has not aged well.
When she arrived, we could see that there was something off with her body, so we had xrays done of her rear legs & spine. It turns out Sandi has arthritis from the top of her tail up to the start of her ribs & it will continue to move up her spine.
This doesn’t slow her down at all, she still does her tippy tappy dance when we go into her run, she jumps up on the couch for cuddles & will happily trot along for a good hour walk each day. It does mean that she will need on-going medication to help with the pain she definitely is in, but as a typical bull breed, is not showing it.
She is not suited to live with cats at all & is very selective with dogs. She is obviously concerned about dogs being around her with her sore body, so really needs to be in a home where she is the only dog.
We would love to be able to find this old girl a warm, comfy home where she is treated like the gem she is & can receive the care she needs.
