Our de-sexing programme

Please de-sex your dog, don’t be part of the problem.

Getting your dog de-sexed is one of the most important things you can do for your dog and for your community!

Over breeding in Christchurch (and all over NZ) has caused a huge increase in abandoned and roaming dogs which results in huge numbers of dogs being euthanised.

Pounds and rescue shelters are constantly full to over-flowing and the amount of dogs being put to sleep simply because there are no homes is staggering. Not to mention all the other benefits of de-sexing - no chance of testicular or mamory cancers, less chance of roaming, no messy bleeding from being 'in heat'.

If you love your dog, PLEASE do the right thing and have them 'fixed'!

Christchurch Bull Breed Rescue runs a Community Desexing Programme, where we can help financially to get dogs desexed. This programme designed to help low income families or families that are having financial hardship.

We receive no funding for this programme and are able to offer this to the community by running fundraising events. This programme has been taken advantage of in the past, so we now require the following information to be provided. We will review your application and be in touch with any questions or further information required.

Once approved, you purchase a voucher off us for $100 & we cover the rest of the cost. Please note that this fee does not allow for pregnant or in season spays, this would incur an additional cost.
