Taco was adopted from us back in 2018 as a young dog, due to no fault of her own she is back in our care, & is around 7 years old now.
If you are looking for a big snuggler & a dog that only needs the odd run, at somewhere like Neuropark Social, this is the girl for you! She is looking for a person to just hang out with & get pats!
Upon arriving back at the rescue we noticed that she was having some issues with her body, so we had an x-ray done to see what was going on. It was found that she has arthritis between her L5 & L6 lumbar vertebra. Due to this, she is wary of unknown dogs approaching her or dogs jumping on her back. Although we manager her pain levels, she can understandably get quite upset with other dogs when put in these positions. She has made multiple dog friends at the shelter that she goes for walks with but also loves her free running time on her own. She is definitely a favourite of the volunteers, she is always there to greet us with a body wag, big wide smile & the best cuddles!
She is not suited to live with cats & would be ok to live with a laid back male dog that will give her space & not jump on her, but she would prefer to be an only dog. She is still able to get out for decent walks or adventures, but it is not advisable to do activities with high impact on her body or back.
Taco is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped & registered & like all our dogs is destined to be family dog that sleeps indoors with the rest of the family.
